Annual report to the nation on the status of cancer
Abstract
This news section offers Cancer readers timely information on events, public policy analysis, topical issues, and personalities. In this issue, we present findings from part one of the Annual Report to the Nation on the Status of Cancer, which provides statistics on incidence and mortality rates across cancer types and demographics. In addition, a new study shows that combining metastasis‐directed radiation therapy with intermittent hormone therapy improves progression‐free survival for advanced prostate cancer and updated American Society of Clinical Oncology guidelines on HER2‐positive breast cancer provide new recommendations based on a systematic evaluation of the best evidence to date by a panel of experts.
