Abstract

Abstract Samples of human haemoglobin from normal adults and from sickle-cell anaemic patients have been heat denatured and then digested with trypsin. The resultant peptide mixtures were separated in two dimensions by paper electrophoresis and paper chromatography. Such “fingerprints” show that the two proteins differ in only one peptide.
