Abstract

This review examines the central actions exerted by corticosteroids that are mediated by mineralocorticoid receptors (MRs or Type 1) and glucocorticoid receptors (GRs or Type 2) in the brain. The leitmotiv is that these MR- and GR-mediated effects of the steroid hormones are of critical importance for homeostatic control
